AEDs awarded by the Play Safe Fund to date: 84
We’re a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives by placing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in schools and athletic departments. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Play Safe Fund is able to provide these life-saving devices at no cost to schools in need. Our mission is to ensure that every student-athlete has access to emergency care when it matters most.
IMPACT FROM SOME OF OUR RECIPIENTS
ARCADIA LOCAL SCHOOLS
"This AED will afford our community-based and scholastic sports programs with adequate resources to safely play! Our youth programs who use our school campus will have access to a life-saving AED device even if they do not practice/play inside the school. Thank you for your generosity and support of Arcadia Athletics!”
Stephanie Loomis, Athletic Director
“Having an additional AED unit will make our high school a safer place. We have many athletic facilities around our campus, and not enough AED units. We need to have these units everywhere. Case in point, earlier this year during a freshmen basketball game, a fan went down, and we needed the AED unit. Luckily, we had one nearby. If this would have happened at our baseball/softball complex, the end result might not have been the same.”
Garry Tausch, Principal
"Thank you to the Play Safe Fund for their generous contribution and support of our student-athletes. The role that having access to an AED can play in the event of a medical emergency is undeniable, especially when minutes, if not seconds are at stake. On behalf of the Monroe Local Schools Athletic Department, thank you to the Play Safe Fund for their partnership in keeping our student-athlete's health and safety our top priority!"
Eric Silverman, Athletic Director
“We will be placing this AED in one of the indoor facilities that is further away from the main campus. This facility has low cell phone coverage, making it crucial for an AED and life-saving due to the cell phone signal to 911 dropping at times.”
Ana Varlela, Athletic Director
PAULDING EXEMPTED VILLAGE SCHOOLS
"Thank you to the OHSAA, Coaches’ Tool Chest, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Play Safe Fund for your donation of an AED for our school district. This AED will enhance our ability to keep our training staff and coaches well equipped in case of emergency and to ensure the health and safety of our student athletes and fans."
Tyler Arend, Athletic Director
“Waynesfield-Goshen Local Schools is ecstatic to receive an AED through this grant. As a school district who has experienced a medical emergency with a coach that required the use of an AED, we are well aware of the importance of having an AED nearby in case of an emergency. This AED will increase our ability to provide a safe environment for our athletes, coaches and spectators.”
